Since a flat end mill may not work good for milling, maybe no one makes them? Do they make spot facing tools without a arbor hole? That may work best. I want to buy them off the shelf so that they are easily replaced .

WEBDec 2, 2001 · The half round doesn't have a round gullet, so it makes a true flat bottom. Ground with an end relief of about 6 degrees, it will machine, and cut very nicely. You should be able to grind the half round by hand and get a very nice flat bottom.
